Submission to the Senate inquiry into the Great Barrier Reef 2050 Partnership Program

EJA’s submission to the Senate inquiry into the Great Barrier Reef 2050 Partnership Program, which includes evidence from Senate Estimates, finds the ‘record investment’ in the Great Barrier Reef should have been put to a transparent and competitive tender process.

EJA questions whether the Minister’s procedural requirements under the PGPA Act were properly followed. It raises questions about the probity of the arrangement. The submission recommends the funding decision be revoked on the basis that it fails to adequately consider the source of climate change impacts and is not a proper use of government resources.
