New report brings Yarra one step closer to getting the protection it deserves

The Ministerial Advisory Committee on the Yarra River Protection Act has released its discussion paper detailing its ideas for a Yarra River Protection Act.

Submissions needed
The Yarra River Protection Act offers a once in a generation opportunity to produce world leading river legislation to protect the Yarra.

But will the government take up this opportunity? We need your help to ensure the legislation isn’t just another planning exercise! Submissions are due Friday 5th August.

We are developing a submission guide to assist community members to make submissions. It will be available later this week and we’ll post it here on this site.

Workshops
We’ll also be holding community workshops on what the Ministerial Advisory Committee’s proposals mean and how to be part of influencing the outcome, with expert legal advice from our lawyer Bruce Lindsay. Let us know if you would like to co-host a workshop in your community.
