About Young Lawyers

LIV Young Lawyers (YL) is a dynamic group established to enhance the legal skills, knowledge and professional networks of members in the early stages of career development.

It is free to join the YL if you are:

  • an LIV member
  • either a legal practitioner under the age of 36, a legal practitioner over the age of 36 with less than six years of post-admission experience, a graduate or law student.

Resources

There are a great number of valuable resources available to members of the YL, designed to help lawyers in the early stages of their careers get the support and connections they need to excel. The LIV offers many CPD courses and events tailored to young lawyers to help them define their legal career path and give them the advice and tools they need in order to succeed in practice.

The Young Lawyers Journal and Young Lawyers Blog offer engaging, relatable insights and a platform for members to make their voices heard. We also host multiple social and networking events throughout the year with opportunities to meet peers and esteemed professionals, express your opinions on the application of the law and participate in reforms. The YL committees are also a great opportunity to network and contribute to projects and activities of the YL.

These are the most important days of your law career and we want to help you make the best start possible.
