Extensions

The Intervention Order to which you are subject can be extended with the Court’s permission. If the affected family member or the police make an application, it will receive a hearing date and the application will be served on you. When the application goes before the Court, the affected family member or the police must show why the Intervention Order needs to be extended.

NOTE: If you are subject to an Intervention Order from another state, the affected family member can apply to have it registered in the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria. The affected family member can apply to extend the order in Victoria.
