Careers
We offer rewarding career opportunities for people with a passion for social justice and improving the lives of disadvantaged Victorians.
Victoria Legal Aid is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workforce. We encourage people from culturally diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, to apply for positions within our organisation. We will make reasonable adjustment, where possible, for people with disabilities.

Employee benefits
We offer a range of benefits to ensure your contribution to Victoria Legal Aid is recognised and your career is as rewarding as possible.
New Lawyers Program
The New Lawyers Program is offered to first and second-year lawyers over two years. The program gives participants the opportunity to work closely with our expert lawyers, undertake casework and appearances in court and conduct advice sessions.
Aboriginal employment
Our Aboriginal Clerkship Program offers placements each year for law students with an Aboriginal background, and our annual New Lawyers Program has two positions designated for Aboriginal applicants.
Volunteering and work experience
Unfortunately, Victoria Legal Aid is unable to accommodate work experience and volunteer requests at this time.
You may like to consider volunteer opportunities at other social justice agencies such as a community legal centre.
