Clearing Cookies, Cache and Download History
Google Chrome
- Type ‘chrome://settings/clearBrowserData’ into your address bar.
- Select ‘Browsing History, Download History, Cookies and Other Site and Plug in Data, Caches, Images and Files’.
- In the ‘Obliterate the Following Items From’ menu, select the period of time you want cleared from your browser.
- Click ‘Clear Browser History’
- Exit the window.
Internet Explorer
- Select the ‘Tools’ icon from the upper right-hand corner of the screen, located next to the ‘Start’.
- Click:
- ‘Safety’
- ‘Delete Browser History’
- Deselect:
- ‘Preserve Favourites Website Data’
- Select:
- ‘Temporary Internet Files’ or ‘Temporary Internet Files and Website Files’
- ‘Cookies’ or ‘Cookies and Website Data’
- History
- Download History
- Select ‘Delete’
- Exit the window
Mozilla Firefox
- Select the ‘History’ menu, then select ‘Clear Recent History’
- In the ‘Time Range to Clear’ menu, select the period of time you want cleared from your browser
- If you want to clear your cache, in the ‘Time Range to Clear’ menu select ‘Everything’.
- From the ‘Details’ menu, choose the items you want to clear. To clear the entire cache, select all items
- Click ‘Clear Now’
- Exit the window
Safari (Apple Mac, iPhone, iPad)
Resetting Safari will clear your entire history, empty the cache, remove all cookies and clear all downloads. Be aware this will also clear any saved passwords or usernames. To reset Safari:
- Click on the Safari menu in the left-hand corner of the screen.
- Select ‘Reset Safari’.
- Click ‘Reset’.
