Accessibility

This website has been developed to offer more accessibility options that will help you use the site.

We aim to conform to Level AA standard of the Web content accessibility guidelines 2.0 developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). We have a little bit to go in this area but we are committed to getting there.

Skipping tool

A skip to content tool is located at the top right of each page of the site to assist users who have assistive technology such as screen readers or Braille readers. This tool bypasses repetitive information by taking you straight to the main heading on the page.

Resizable text

You can resize text on the site using a '+' or '-' symbol located at the top of each page. If your web browser has cookies enabled, when you next visit Everyday-Law the site will display in the text size you selected.

Document format

Where possible, we have made our content available in HTML format as a preference. However, many third-party resources that we link to on this website are produced in PDF format. PDFs allow you to download, print and share online content. To access PDF files download the free Acrobat Reader.

We will include more resources in HTML and Word format as they become available.

Video

Videos produced since 2013 have been produced including captioning and interactive transcripts. By clicking on the YouTube icon below one of our videos, users are taken to our YouTube channel where there are options to turn on captions or read an interactive transcript. We are working on including captions with all our videos.

Useful links

Media Access Australia is an excellent source of information about accessibility features for desktop, tablets and mobile phones, as well as assistive technologies that are available for people with disabilities.
