Alcohol interlock conditions
An alcohol interlock condition is a condition that outlines that you can only drive a vehicle that has an alcohol interlock device installed. The device measures and records the amount of alcohol on your breath. It prevents a vehicle from starting if alcohol is detected.
You may receive an alcohol interlock condition if you have been found guilty of:
- a drink driving offence
- a combined drink and drug driving offence
- offences that were found to have occurred under the influence of alcohol or both alcohol and a drug.
See the VicRoads website for information about:
- the Victorian alcohol interlock program
